For those of you who have rocked with us since ‘06, you know that Freekugly started with characters. You may also remember that that was all we offered! All of the characters that were created within the Freekugly world had names and personalities that you could relate to. Many of you may have noticed that we’ve been off of the block for a while as well. Since our return, we’ve maintained the character base, but we’ve also expanded our design content to make us more of a rounded brand. Now this doesn’t mean that we stopped offering our signature characters, now, our characters our offered in sets. Each season we intend to release a set of characters for you to get to know. Last season was Da Burgla and The Invincible , this Spring we’re bringing you 4 new characters. For those of you who are new, Freekugly characters are derived from family members, friends, celebrities, or straight off the top of the dome! Stay tuned to get a sneak preview of the new guys.
Introducing the new Freekugly Cuddlebuddies. Considering the characters it was only right that they became three dimensional, and besides, who wouldn’t want one of the plush cuddly sons of b****es?! We’ve been creating characters for years and they’ve all been 2-dimensional and I wondered, where’s the fun in that? So here’s what I did , I created a couple of these to see how it would roll over with the peoples and guess what…they likey! Now it’s on, just one more thing to make you mofos love us. I’ve recently come across some interesting news about good ol’ Dame Dash. Besides the release of the Black Roc album, he also has another project in the mix. Creative Control is an inside look at Dame’s art gallery/studio compound in Manhattan called DD172. This is the second video I’ve seen from within the studio and so far I’m impressed with the theme as well as what I’ve heard. There is word the the series of videos is a teaser from a film project by Michael Sterling Eaton. I definitely believe that this going to be a very good venture by the Roc!

Now this my seem a lil strange that im posting a blog about the new BlackBerry Bold 9000 and 9007 since im a die hard iPhone user and will ride or die for my Mac but this ish right here, right here n**ga this ish is DEF foreal! And i love new gadgets soooooooo with that said let’s start with the Coke White 9000 i mean just look at it, it’s beautiful. The coke white keys (Yes pun intended lol) with the white leather in the back just sets this BlackBerry apart from any smart phone on the market including the white iPhone had me ready to jump ship when i saw it, and in the summer time i can just see this phone going right along with your favorite white sneaker and white v-neck tee stunting to the fullest!!! Feel me main?
Now for the big bad Bold 9700 aka the Bold2, im not going to lie im sold yes im sold when this drops i will be selling my iPhone and making that move to the crackberry side which will be serviced under AT&T and T-Mobile. I went over to the Painted Bride performing arts theater Sunday night to check out an artist showcase they host called Atypical. It was my first time being inside the spot, despite hearing about it for the last 8 or 9 years, shame on me…smh. The spot was very nice and very intimate, as was the show, which I almost missed because of my toiling back and forth on whether or not to do some much needed laundry or neglect my domestic duty. Being the responsible person that I am, I decided to go. The showcase featured 3 artists, Ryat, Mr. Sonny James and Hezekiah. It wasn’t just a performance, it was a chance for people to sit in with the artist as they described their creative process and their skills as well as show what it is they do. I got there during the last few minutes of Ryat, they’re an amazingly talented group that you must check out whenever you get the chance. Next came Mr. Sonny James. He demonstrated a technique in which he mixed mp3’s and mp4’s simultaneously for audible and visual experience. If, you’ve had the pleasure of hearing Mr. Sonny James a.k.a. DJ Statik rock a show or a mixtape i.e. Freekugly Mixtapes vol. 1 & 2, you know how he gets down. He gave use a visual mix of his icons and interest from his childhood until now. Last but not least…Hezekiah, if you are not familiar then get familiar! Hez gave us some insight into how he came into his love for music and his “Get’er Done” attitude as well as a few videos that he’s produced himself. So because ya’ll weren’t there I felt it necessary to bring it to you. Enjoy!
